Panacocha 2, Ecuador

Trekking in the jungle! It was hot and humid, but we were advised to wear long pants and boots because of the insects.

Some bad things in South America:
  • strikes in Ecuador
  • high prices in Venezuela
  • violent video films on buses
  • loud music on buses
  • too short visit
  • ugly postcards

Adolfo is showing us how the sap can be used for curing illnesses.

A huge liana.

Lunchbreak. For dessert, Pedro picked some ants that tasted exactly like lemon. (Yes, we ate them alive!)

Daniel is holding a huge centipede, but it wouldn't be still!

Crossing a swamp. Even though we had walking sticks, most of us sank up to the waist. We saw only one leech, though.

I made it!
