Mochima, Venezuela

Further east along the coast, we stopped in Puerto La Cruz. It's a place where rich people come to get a tan beside the hotel pool, which of course is a big no no for backpackers like us. Instead, we took a tour into Parque Nacional Mochima, a huge park mostly consisting of ocean, coral reefs and islands. We made many new friends: iguanas, dolphins, pelicans, yellow fishes, blue fishes, striped fishes, dotted fishes, BIG fishes and a Swedish couple from Vasastan. El Capitano made sure the beer was cold all day.

Iguanas! Sorry... three iguanas and one Anja.

They're not shy at all, but they didn't really like when we pulled their tails...

Three Swedes and el capitano.

There were maybe a dozen of dolphins playing around our boat, but they were very tricky to photograph.

Looking up from the coral reefs.
