{"id":135,"date":"2007-10-10T09:58:36","date_gmt":"2007-10-10T07:58:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/daniel.haxx.se\/blog\/2007\/10\/10\/linux-sound-part-ii\/"},"modified":"2007-10-10T09:58:36","modified_gmt":"2007-10-10T07:58:36","slug":"linux-sound-part-ii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/daniel.haxx.se\/blog\/2007\/10\/10\/linux-sound-part-ii\/","title":{"rendered":"Linux Sound, part II"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s a follow-up on my <a href=\"http:\/\/daniel.haxx.se\/blog\/2007\/09\/22\/sound-on-linux-has-some-quirks-left\/\">previous rant about Linux sound still lacking<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>I got the advice to try shutting off my on-board audio in the BIOS settings, and indeed I think that&#8217;s a great idea as with only one sound card present in the system I figure the chances are much bigger that things would auto-detect and work smoothly.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/daniel.haxx.se\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/09\/musicnote.png\" title=\"Music Note\" alt=\"Music Note\" align=\"left\" hspace=\"10\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Forget that. When I did that, I failed to get any sound at all. Not by default and not after trying one of my <em>alsaconf<\/em> and <em>aumix<\/em> tricks.
