{"id":190,"date":"2007-11-13T12:26:49","date_gmt":"2007-11-13T10:26:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/daniel.haxx.se\/blog\/2007\/11\/13\/fresh-ca-cert-bundle-anyone\/"},"modified":"2008-09-01T11:47:05","modified_gmt":"2008-09-01T09:47:05","slug":"fresh-ca-cert-bundle-anyone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/daniel.haxx.se\/blog\/2007\/11\/13\/fresh-ca-cert-bundle-anyone\/","title":{"rendered":"Fresh CA Cert Bundle Anyone?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/curl.haxx.se\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"cURL\" src=\"http:\/\/daniel.haxx.se\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/09\/curl-keywords300.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"cURL\" align=\"left\" \/><\/a>The popular <a href=\"http:\/\/curl.haxx.se\/docs\/caextract.html\">ca extract<\/a> service on the <a href=\"http:\/\/curl.haxx.se\/\">curl web site<\/a> converts the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mozilla.com\/en-US\/firefox\/\">Firefox<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Certificate_authority\">ca certs<\/a> into a PEM file suitable for use with <a href=\"http:\/\/curl.haxx.se\/\">curl<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gnu.org\/software\/wget\/\">wget<\/a> or anything else <a href=\"http:\/\/www.openssl.org\/\">OpenSSL<\/a>-based that likes <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/X.509#Certificate_file_extensions\">PEM formatted<\/a> CA cert bundles.<\/p>\n<p>The main script was fixed yesterday as it was previously getting a nightly source code snapshot to get the &#8220;magic&#8221; file to convert from, but I noticed they stopped updating the nightly source snapshots a good while ago so the updates had stopped!<\/p>\n<p>Now, the script only gets the actually needed certdata file and converts it, so now it downloads a lot less data in vain and it also thus runs much faster.
