Aguas Calientes, Peru

Five hours by train from Cuzco is Aguas Calientes. There's basically only one street here: the railroad tracks. As soon as the daily train has left, all commerce moves out on the tracks. Looking for a hotel? There are several right on the platform. Hungry? Buy a whole bag of that flat bread for almost no money in one of the railroad kiosks.

The sun sets very early, around two o'clock, because of the high mountains that surround the entire village.

The daily train is in.

The same view as above, but now the train has left.

The platform. The building to the right is our hotel.

Queuing for train tickets. The sales office was only open between 2-4 o'clock.
