The bus ride from Moshi (Kilimanjaro) to Lushoto was rough with constant stops to pick up or drop people off, repair the bus or buy things from the street hawks that circled the packed vehicle. Close encounter with Tanzanians.

Lushoto is a tiny village in the Usambara mountains.

The mountains are good for hiking and we spent a couple of days exploring the surrounding.

Many houses are made of mud, and have no electricity or running water. We met many people wearing colorful textiles, often carrying things on their heads. Unfortunately they didn't like being fotographed.
