Update: the poll is now closed. The responses can be found here.
Now is the time. If you use curl or libcurl from time to time, please consider helping us out with providing your feedback and opinions on a few things:
It’ll take you a couple of minutes and it’ll help us a lot when making decisions going forward.
The poll is hosted by Google and that short link above will take you to:

I really appreciate the expanded documentation suggested by last year’s survey. Thank you for all your work!
I think it would be good if there was a “don’t know” or “have no opinion” option. Or maybe just some instruction at the beginning to tell people what they should do if they don’t know an answer. Even something simple at the beginning like “If you don’t know an answer, skip the question.” In pronounced lettering otherwise people like me might miss it. Here are two things I didn’t really know about:
Female contributors and other minorities
Should curl join an umbrella project?
I think I answered the first as 3 and I put no for the second. Really I don’t know. Is it implied that if you don’t know the answer to a question you should skip it? I don’t take a lot of surveys so I don’t know.
I have some more thoughts on this, more of a tl;dr but here you go:
I think it would be useful to grab more information about the individual filling out the form and their motives and usage. Are they working on behalf of a company, open source, both, etc, what’s the name of the company (a prefer not to say answer could be added), what’s in production with libcurl, what’s in production with curl, what platforms, did you have to modify curl to get it working, how many devices contain curl, how often do you update, etc.
A “what’s the biggest problem you’ve with libcurl?” and a text box for the answer. Personally I’d be really interested in the details on that.
Another thing I think may be good is prioritize the questions for survey fatigue and make some notice at the beginning so that if someone gets fed up halfway through (happens a lot with surveys) and doesn’t want to spend more time on it they can still submit the partially completed survey (if that’s possible).
Thanks for all the feedback Ray. I just don’t want to modify it once it already has gone up, but I truly want to use your feedback and improve it for the next time – as I intend to make this an annual tradition.
