localhost may be ::1 or 127.0.0.1 or even 127.0.02 or maybe the user has some order preference, wants one or the other or both or none who knows. I think hardcoding it is a mistake.
I’m convinced it is wrongly resolved over DNS *way* more often than someone changed it to something else than ::1 and 127.0.0.1….
